Middleton Tate Johnson founded the settlement of Johnson Station in Texas in 1846. It was located in Tarrant County, Texas, and is now part of the city of Arlington. This cemetery serves as a reminder of that early settlement. The oldest marked graves in Johnson Station Cemetery date back to the 1860s, although some unmarked ones could be older. While there are many pioneer settlers and Civil War veterans buried here, the cemetery continues to offer burial plots for both immediate and long-range planning.
